So you struggle in believing in God and/or the Bible. You are not alone. God's chosen people the Jews, struggled for thousands of years with God, in fact, the name, "Israel" means "One who struggles with God." There are a few reasons for the struggle that I have listed along with links for additional (hopefully helpful) information on the subjects.

1. Being made in the "Image of God - We share many wonderful attributes with God and two of the most powerful attributes we have, are our senses and intellect. With these tools, we navigate through life events and challenges that are both good and bad. We like to think that we are independent thinkers and that we (unlike others) have the right perspective on life. The downside with this thinking is that we are our own boss and nobody, (including God) can tell us what to do. But, something is lurking in our lives, our mortality. Blog - ... 2. Lack of love - Many grow up in divided homes or homes where loving words and acts were rarely seen and abuse both verbal and physical are the norm. What that kind of upbringing, it is very difficult to even imagine a loving Heavenly Father when your earthly father was either absent, addicted and abusive. Dawn's - Really Rough Life

Addiction, I'm Too Far Gone - Many have resorted to easing the various pains in their lives by embracing addictive substances. Sadly, we need all of our brainpower we can muster to live in our complex society. The Good news is that it is never too late, if you turn toward God, He will run to you to begin a restoration of relationship with you. Come to Him as you are and let Him be involved in changing you. (Luke 15:3-24).



Jesus' Parable of the Lost Son

This parable represents God's heart toward anyone that think they have sinned too much and wandered too far.

Luke 15:11-32

To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve.

He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’

“So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.“

“Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, and he asked one of the servants what was going on. ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’ “The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf!“

“His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’”

Lack of Orientation - There are many people who are aimlessly wandering through life, feeling generally beat down, confused and discouraged. But it is God's desire for us is to understand enough of His plan so we are orientated in the following things:

  1. How we got here
  2. Who we are
  3. Why we are here
  4. What we should be doing
  5. And where we are going

Being orientated this way brings us a lot of personal peace and we all need that. Blog - Orientated or Not

Some people from birth have been locked into a false religion that offers another way to Heaven different than what the God of the Bible has offered. Now they want out. In some of these religions, if you choose to leave, your family will disown you. Jesus alluded to this kind of event in Matthew.

19:29 ... everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.

Hello and Welcome!

Perhaps you have been alive for awhile and experienced many of aspects of what we call human life with more than your share of difficulties and/or abuses. Maybe the idea of a loving Father-God is nearly impossible based on your father or father figure/s. But possibly you've gazed beyond yourself into the starry heavens and while feeling quite small, you've wondered what life is all about and if there is really a Creator. And if so, why hasn't He made Himself known.

I'm here to say that yes, the Creator has communicated with us and told us a lot about Himself, how and why He made us and what He wants us to do and the eternal life He wants for us. Since He lives outside of time, He has also shared coming attractions with us so we will not be fearful but rather, peacefully confident that His Plan is still on track.

Most of the questions we have about these things are answered in the pages of the Bible, the best-seller that gathers dust in homes around the world. I encourage you to step out and take a look at the Gospel of Christ for your answers. One step at a time may just assist you into a wonderful and peaceful relationship with your Creator. If so, you will be peacefully orientated in this world and joyfully anticipating the eternal life ahead in God's Kingdom, Keith
