What the Bible says about Hell

Objection! Why does a "loving God" send people to Hell?

Answer: God (John 3:16-17) does not arbitrarily send people to Hell, because we all sin (Romans 3:23) and we are naturally rebellious to God and His program so Hell (separation from God) is our default (John 3:17). People choose Hell by ignoring God, sinning against their conscience and rejecting God's offer of salvation (John 3:18-19).

Question? Can a good judge sentence someone to life imprisonment for murder, and still be considered a good judge? (John 3:17). Of course!

Then it stands to reason that a loving God can also pronounce justice and still be a "Loving God."

God wants you! And He has gone to extreme measures to provide you that opportunity.

Our Holy God, indeed, has reached and is still reaching out to people. He fashioned His Word, the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16). Selected out a nation (Israel) (Deu 7:6-8), taught them His Law, the 10 commandants (Exodus 20:3-17). The Law showed mankind that there was no way any of us could really keep it and this confirmed, or should have confirmed, that compared to God we are indeed all sinners. God established a solution for people to escape the punishment for their sins by the shedding of innocent blood, the sacrifices (Lev 17:11). Then, He told mankind way in advance, (700 BCE) (Isaiah 52:13-53:12) that He would be sending His Servant, His only Son, that would live a perfect life and be killed to become the ultimate and final sacrifice (2 Cor 5:21). For those that would believe God and put their trust in His Servant's sacrifice, their sins would be forgiven and Heaven would be their certain destination (John 3:16).

Question? Is Jesus the only way to Heaven?     Answer - Yes John 14:6, Acts 4:12

Objection! It is just not fair that Jesus is the only way!

Answering with a question: How about if you had a rare form of cancer and there was only one cure, would you complain? Of course not, you would just be glad that there was  A CURE!

Comparing salvation as a cure for a disease is a good comparison because there is not anyone that walks this earth that has not been "infected" with sin, with only one exception, Jesus.

Objection! What about those people through no fault of their own are in deepest darkest Africa and have not heard about Jesus?

Answers: Jesus commanded His followers to get the word out (Mark 16:14-16).

1 Samuel 16:7 says that while man looks upon a person's outside, God looks upon the heart. In Deu 4:29, it says that those that look for God with all their heart and soul will find Him.

It is interesting that people that ask this question are not really caring about the "lost native." They are only interested in showing somehow that God is not fair.

God has lovingly placed Jesus in front of the entrance to Hell, you have to go around Him to get there.

Some Facts about Hell

1. A place of unquenchable fire (Mat 3:12)

Objection! Why does God want to roast people for eternity?

Answer: He doesn't, (Ezekiel 33:11) God threw mankind a lifeline by sending His Son to take the punishment for our sins. He won't force you to grab it.

Distill out all evil, angels, demons and people, and put it in one place with Satan as the host, and what have you got? Hell.

Jesus couched Hell in the most frightful horrible terms so you would not go there.  Why would anyone in their right mind take a chance in going there?

2. It will be a place of memory and remorse (Luke 16:19-31).

3. A place of thirst (Luke 16:24)

4. A place of misery and pain (Rev 14:10-11)

5. A place of separation (Mat 25:46)(Dan 12:2)

6. An eternal place (Matt 25:46)

Objection!  If Jesus is the only way, why are there so many different religions?

Answer: One of Satan's names is "deceiver." His deception started in the Garden of Eden when he appealed to Eve's interest in becoming like God (Genesis 3:4-5). Satan's deceiving influence is still at work today in the minds of mankind (Eph 2:2-3). Lump all other religions together, for they all do the same thing, they minimize and make insignificant, or, completely disregard what Jesus accomplished by His death and resurrection on the cross.

After Adam and Eve sinned they felt exposed and feared their Creator. Their solution was to make themselves "coverings" (Gen 3:7) by sewing together some fig leaves. Their efforts in fixing the problem themselves, established the first "man made religion." God didn't say much about their fix, but blood was shed as the first animals were killed so that their skins could provide a covering that worked (Gen 3:21).

Jesus said that not many people would make it to Heaven (Matt 7:13-14). Some think that the few number saved are because of some sort of failure in God's PR program. I see the few numbers as more of a problem with the deceitfulness of mankind's heart (Jer 17:9) and our propensity to somehow delude ourselves into thinking that we are our own god. Good luck with that.

God's Endgame:  Revelation 21:1-8

"Behold, the tabernacle (dwelling place) of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

the Bible and the Biblical God

This sounds good to me, I'm in.

How about you? If so, open the door to the right. You will be amazed just how good if feels to lay you head on your pillow at night, knowing that you "are right" with your Creator.
